Life Got Busy—And So Did Technology
Coaching Tips

It’s funny. Over 6 months ago, I said that the next blog post about AI would be coming soon, and here I am 6 months later, with no blog updated. Why? Well, this is how busy life can get, whether it’s personal commitments, ongoing projects, or simply the desire to unplug more. It’s a constant struggle to find a balance between screen time and disconnecting. Sometimes, I feel like I’m over technology at this point and that I’ve seen enough.

I’m in the generation that has witnessed the evolution of music, from records to Spotify, and now we see everyone going backward. I remember learning DOS commands from my mom, and now I show her everything because she says, “I can’t keep up,” and I tell her not to worry about it because no one can keep up anymore. Then we read all of these things about how we should unplug more and how looking at your phone before bed is so bad for you, and I wonder: Is this what we really wanted? Shouldn’t there be more rules, or should there have been a limit on technology? Or is the purpose of AI completely misguided? And shouldn’t AI be used for other things, like helping us function better in our day-to-day lives so we can achieve better balance?

I’m still looking for a robot that can do my dishes, my laundry, and my cleaning so I can focus on cooking and being healthy, without my time being bogged down by all these other responsibilities. So, even though this blog post is not the second part in the AI series I was writing, I actually wanted to get this out there: this is how busy life gets, especially when you’re responsible for more than just yourself or managing things you would typically do completely on your own because you don’t have extra support. What is the balance between unplugging and plugging in, and trying to live a life that’s not so busy, but busy in a good way—or busy in a way that we don’t have so many negative things surrounding us, but equally positive? What is the balance?
