Lead from Intuition, Not Anxiety

This weekend, between the celebrations of Canada Day and the Fourth of July, I found myself pausing amidst the festivities. These two countries have shaped so much of my journey—my education, my friendships, and the professional path I’ve built—but this year, the quiet moments hit differently.
I started thinking about the difference between "moving on" and "moving forward," and I realized how often I, like so many of us, get stuck in my head instead of grounded in my body. We carry so much unnecessary pressure, letting the anxieties of the past and the fear of the future dictate our pace. I’m choosing a different approach this season: it’s time to stop overthinking and start leading from intuition.
"Moving forward" and "moving on" are two different things. As we reflect on the weekend, it hits me: as time marches on and "life happens," we often confuse the two. People keep saying that if you aren’t moving forward, you’re just moving on—but does that mean you’re stuck?
If we are both moving forward and moving on, are we finally unlearning the conditioned responses in our minds? When we let go, are we stepping into a more authentic, present state of being?
So much of our struggle comes from the fear of the unknown, the weight of the future, and the anxieties of the past. We put so much pressure on ourselves—often for no reason—when the true goal of life is simply to be present.
As we celebrate these two nations, which have shaped so much of my growth, my professional network, and my personal experiences, let’s reflect on how we lead ourselves. Let’s commit to letting go, moving on, and moving forward with the intention of being more authentic. It is time to live in our bodies rather than getting stuck in our heads. Let’s lead from our intuition instead of our anxiety or fear, because, ultimately, that is what is truly holding us back.
